Constitution

Article 1: Name
The name of the society is “The West Vancouver Community Arts Council”.

Article 2: Purposes
The object of this society shall be to increase and broaden the opportunities for West Vancouver primarily and all North Shore citizens to enjoy and participate in cultural activities and shall include the following activities:
a)  To help stimulate and encourage the development of programs of visual, literary and  performing arts in West Vancouver and the North Shore.
b)  To render service to all such participating groups and individuals.
c)  To foster interest and pride in the cultural heritage of this community.
d)  To interpret the work of related cultural groups to the community, enlist public interests and promote public understanding.
e)  To bring to the attention of civic and provincial authorities the cultural needs of the community.
Article 3: Place of Operation
The operation of the society is to be chiefly carried out in the area known as the Municipality of the District of West Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia.

Article 4: Dissolution

Upon winding up or dissolution of the Society, the assets which remain after payment of all costs, charges and expenses, which are properly incurred in the winding up, shall be distributed to such charitable organization or organizations in British Columbia having similar charitable purpose. This provision shall be unalterable.
