Are you interested in art and music? Do you want to make a difference in our community? At our upcoming AGM, members will be electing five board members for a two year term ending September 2018. They will join the five current members whose term expires in September 2017.

West Vancouver Community Arts Council is seeking candidates who have an interest in art and music and how these elements can improve the sustainability and liveability of our community.

WVCAC's mission is to increase and broaden the opportunities for West Vancouver and all North Shore citizens to enjoy and participate in cultural activities. We seek a board that includes a mix of gender, age and cultural diversity with the experience and expertise to govern effectively. Prospective board members should have a strong interest in the work of the WVCAC, bring a strong set of skills to help us to fulfill our mission, and be willing to commit time for meetings, planning sessions, activities and special events.

Directors meet once a month, on a weekday evening. In addition to monitoring and managing general WVCAC business, all are expected to contribute ideas and expertise to special areas of focus, which currently include:

  • Fundraising
  • Strategic Planning
  • Municipal Liaison
  • Membership
  • Community Engagement
Refer to our Bylaws for operational details.

Please register before September 20, 2016 to express your interest in being added to this year's list of candidates.
