Above & Beyond
My Artist’s Corner is a collective of artists living with mental health issues who embrace and promote art as a limitless tool for self-expression and as a vital tool for recovery. Above & Beyond explores the beauties of the natural world, specifically those linked to the theme of ‘Galaxy’. We invite viewers to linger, observe, and immerse themselves in the colours, textures and uniqueness of each painting. The lone naked eye is not capable of seeing all of the universe’s bounty at once and we believe this idea can also be applied to MAC and the stigma against mental health. You cannot fully appreciate any person, place or thing until it is given the time to be acknowledged and heard; only then will it reveal its true self.
Opening reception will be held Tuesday January 8th, from 6—8pm. Everyone is welcome!

Looking from the Outside
Painter/print maker Greg Allen muses on his inspiration and body of work: “The Pacific westcoast is an extremely vibrant and exciting environment. To some, it may appear gray and dull, but as an artist, I see it differently. When I look at the coastline, I feel an unsettling energy that permeates every piece of driftwood, jagged rock, or gnarled tree. It is this energy that I try to represent through my work.”
Opening reception will be held on Tuesday February 19th, from 6—8pm. All are wlcome!
Don’t miss Block Printing 101 on Sunday March 24. Greg Allen shares his skill and knowledge in a block printing workshop for beginners. Supplies provided.

Nazanin Sadeghi’s beautifully detailed watercolour paintings use the imagery of love-blind birds courting potential mates which are in reality only sculptures or reflections, to explore human relationships.
