Multidisciplinary artist Yeonmi Kim presents a series of work that addresses the threats to our oceans from both the climate crisis & plastic pollution. Kim has sewn together recycled materials, such as discarded plastic packages, to produce 2D wall pieces of maps of locations that are showing the severe effects of climate change. Also included are representational & symbolic pieces that use discarded materials to address these concerns as well as celebrate the needs & joy of nature.

Catch Yeonmi Kim & artist Jackie Wong for the First Thursdays Art Walk: Art Talk a dynamic discussion about their inspirations, practices & techniques.

Part of our Cultural Conversation on Climate Change programming.
