The world around us is composed of unique elements such as plants, soil, water & more. These resources are not only part of what makes nature so attractive & fascinating, but also part of our daily lives. Artists Ruth Casselman, Monica Gewurz, Ayushi Puri & Anna Vagramova use materials derived from natural sources in their work to explore their relationships with the environment.

Ruth Cassleman is a West Vancouver collage artist who constructs abstracted landscapes combining layers of upcycled paper, photographs, paint & found objects, to offer suggestions of places real & imagined.

Lions Bay painter Monica Gewurz, captures the vast serenity of west coast shorelines as well as detailed views of gnarled trees in expressive, textured renditions using a variety of media including natural pigments, sand, wax & metallic minerals.

Ayushi Puri is an artist based in Vancouver who paints primarily with coffee, creating surreal, whimsical & profound scenes full of symbolism regarding our intertwined connection to nature.

Port Moody artist Anna Vagramova creates abstract installations with preserved moss on recycled surfaces, inviting viewers to study the diverse textures & colours while pondering cycles of growth & rebirth in nature & ourselves.
