What is reality? What forms the world around us? What makes us us? The artists in Particles + Paradoxes explore these questions & offer their unique musings through exciting & experimental art.

Pepe Hidalgo's series of acrylic paintings “The Magic of Still Life” speaks of different states of consciousness where one becomes absorbed in the painting & does not know if the object exists or is an invention of the artist - giving objects a new meaning by presenting them in a different way: distorting some of them & leaving others in the most simplistic form.

Pierre Leichner is an interdisciplinary research artist exploring gravity, a fundamental force of nature that still holds many mysteries. Leichner's painted recycled wooden doors are imaginative representations of gravitational waves & black holes created using gravity directly through pouring paint from above & spinning the doors.

Susan Wolpert, inspired by theoretical physic, uses the symbol of a circle to represent the basic elements that make up matter in the universe, Wolpert methodically layers paper circles over top photographs of local scenes to illustrate how the differences in nature are defined by the changing patterns of the same basic elements.
